Giving Tuesday 2022

Help My Good Brain reach its goal of securing 40 Tool Kits for 40 students by donating to our Giving Tuesday Fundraiser!

Our Giving Tuesday Goal

For this Giving Tuesday 2022, our goal is to raise $1000 by November 30th.

This fundraiser will be able to support 40 students with 40 My Good Brain Tool Kits. These My Good Brain Tool Kits are filled with art-based healthy coping tools for mental health.

Support our year-end campaign and show that you care about children and their mental well-being.

Our Impact

Supporting Bay Area Students

Last year, we donated over 70 My Good Brain Tool Kits to local elementary school students in the Oakland, Hayward, and Union City area.

In Fall 2022 quarter alone, we have more than doubled that number! As of November 2022, we have provided over 300 Tool Kits with students in the East Bay Area. Our reach has expanded to more schools in the Fremont and Hayward districts.

While creating these Tool Kits, we also strived to become more earth-friendly with our materials. By making a shift towards packaging materials that were reusable and art products that were recyclable or multi-purpose, we wanted to set a good example for youth on the unlimited ways you can create art using everyday items.

School counselors and staff provide them to their students who are in need of supplementary mental health support outside of the school setting. And their positive reviews and feedback about the Tool Kit Program has been largely motivating for us to create more and more of these art therapy tool kits for youth!

Building Community

Online Events:

  • We have hosted ten free online arts and crafts events for children of all ages.

  • Each arts and crafts event is focused on an educational topic about mental health, and the art activities teach children healthy coping skills that they can use (example: identifying emotions, gratitude practice).

  • So far, we have had more than 80 children previously attend our Sunday Art Club events.

In Person Events:

  • Creative Communal at SPARK Social

  • Creative Communal at Ghirardelli Square

  • Fremont Street Eats

  • Academic Excellence Day: Celebrating Art Through Mindfulness in Hayward

As opportunities for safe in-person events slowly became available, My Good Brain participated in booth events all over the Bay Area! We were able to share our art materials and goodies with families and children of all ages. Our free art activity booths have been such a big hit!

Providing Educational Resources to Parents & Teachers

We have been diligently creating and adding more resource infographics and blog posts to share research-based facts about various mental health topics. From developmental disorder prevalence rates, how to support someone through trauma, and more, we hope to share credible and useful materials to make an impact on children’s mental health and wellness.

Amplifying Good Role Models for Youth

In May 2022, My Good Brain was proud to partner again with MTV Entertainment Group and Task Force for Mental Health Action Day. We joined more than 1,400 other leading companies, brands, nonprofits and cultural leaders globally for this important event. This year, the focus was all about Teen Mental Health & Connection.

During the whole month of May, we invited individuals of all ages to share resilience stories about their own mental wellness journey. It was our hope that these stories resonate, encourage, and inspire others to action for their own mental wellbeing.
