our good summer: a coming of age film exploring the question: "what makes us feel alive?"
we are not casting actors or reading off scripts though.
instead, we are featuring real youth with real stories, like you.
this project is created by my good brain, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focusing on promoting mental wellness through art to children and youth.

we want chaotic, messy videos from your phone of those road trips with your friends. beautiful videos you captured on your camera of that sunset. 3am voice memos of your thoughts on growing up. we want poetry, chaos, vulnerability.
every submitted video is a frame in a larger film, a supercut of us. our good summer wants to encapsulate what it means to feel, to grow, to feel alive this summer. so that we can watch back 50 years from now and start bawling our eyes out.
the film premiered on youtube mid-august & submitted to film festivals throughout the coming months.

capture it! you can go full on filmmaker mode & bring out your camera to shoot what you're feeling in a poetic way, or you can just take out your phone and record yourself talking about emotions or vlogging that road trip with your friends. we will feature ANYTHING that is thoughtful & touches on the central theme: what makes us feel alive?
NOTE: you can send in unedited clips. however, if you do want to edit it, we welcome you to do so! however, don’t add any background music as we are putting this in a bigger film.
